Understanding how dogs communicate within a pack is the cornerstone of our methodology. The physical and mental stability of your dog requires proper structure within that pack. Following a naturally inherent structure, and understanding how they communicate and learn, is the most important lesson for you as the Pack Leader. Your responsibility is to not only understand these traits but also to live by them.
Leadership is established with an egoless understanding of one’s self and those around. A true leader stays informed of most everything, yet refrains from interference unless the natural order is disrupted. When restoring balance, a proper leader will do so with no more influence than what is necessary to restore the peace and harmony required. It is not about credit, nor reward, but an understanding that the success of one equals the survival of the whole.
Your dog reacts to the environment it is in at that very moment. Any new presence is taken as a threat until your dog can study it. They study our facial expression and body language, and can sense if we are fearful, angry, calm or happy. They react to the tone of our voice long before they understand the word. The energy that you are generating directly effects the way your dog reacts to a situation.
Dogs live in the moment and will do its best to be satisfied and happy.
Live in that moment with your dog and provide proper leadership that satisfies the needs of the pack. Do this with the walk, basic training or whatever is needed for our dogs to follow us and trust us with their safety and well being. Pay attention to your dog’s body language in any given situation. Think about the connection between you, your dog and nature while filtering out you worries. You stand in the center of your dog’s world.
